A Welcome Message from Dr. Tom O'Bryan
My name is Dr. Tom O’Bryan and I’d love for you to get to know me better…
It all started 40 years ago.
My wife and I could not get pregnant. I called the seven most famous holistic doctors I’d ever heard of and I asked them, what do you do for infertility? They all told me what they do. I wrote it down and I put a program together. We were pregnant in just six weeks.
We were really excited. My neighbors in married housing, (we lived on campus at the time) they had been through artificial insemination, nothing had worked for them. They asked if I’d work with them. And I said, well, I don’t think there’s anything here that could harm you…she was pregnant in three months.
So we were hot to try to help other couples get pregnant. And we were so happy to be pregnant. I was treating people out of my dorm room for infertility and recurrent miscarriages.
I’ve found that there is not much in medicine that’s “ALL” or “EVERY” – this is an EVERY, clinically. Every person that has hormone related problems, whether it’s men with low testosterone or low sperm count or women with PMS or hormone imbalances, every single person, as part of the problem, is eating foods that did not make them sick, but were causing inflammation, contributing to their problem – EVERY SINGLE PERSON.
That got me into the world of food sensitivities as a contributor to disease development. What did we find the most common food that people were reacting to?
Whether they knew it or not – it was wheat.
For every one person that has gut symptoms with wheat, we now know they’re eight that don’t. It’s affecting their brain or their reproductive system or their muscles, but not their gut. So they don’t feel bad when they eat it.
So that sent me on the entire journey that I have been on for 40 years. I’m on the teaching faculty of the Institute for Functional Medicine and we teach physicians all over the world – this concept of going upstream to find out where a person’s problems are coming from, which triggers are fueling the problem that they have, not just what drug to take or what vitamin to take to deal with symptoms. That’s important at times, but where is it coming from? What’s setting this all up? That’s functional medicine, and it’s been just a wonderful journey ever since.
Over the course of the next week or so, I’ll be sending you the culmination of my science backed findings and the resources that I have put together to help understand why what happens happens, and how you can get to the root cause to prevent, stop, and even reverse what’s making your feel sick, fat, tired, bloated, foggy, depressed….the list goes on and on.
Would you mind sharing with me your biggest struggle when it comes to your health? Let me know where you most need support.
To your health,
Dr. Tom
