What’s Hiding in Your Body?
The secret to lifelong vitality.

- I’m often asked how I work on my health. My goal is to minimize the gap between my ‘Healthy Lifespan’ and ‘Total Lifespan’—staying vibrant and healthy in my senior years.
- Here’s the reality: while life expectancy has increased, healthy life expectancy hasn’t kept pace. Men average 78.8 years, but only 62.4 of those are in good health. For women, it’s 82.8 years with 62.7 healthy years. This means 16-20 years are often spent in poor health (i). And this is the average! To interpret this, it means in their early middle ages, the body must be wearing down so quickly, while the symptoms are minimal, that people don’t notice, so they don’t change the lifestyle habits fueling the problem.
- The primary contributor in this gap is low-grade (“I feel fine”), chronic inflammation. Research shows disease-free centenarians have much lower levels of gut-related markers that create inflammation (lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and zonulin). (ii). Lowering these markers reduces inflammation which supports better function.
- We live in a toxic world—air, food, and everyday products contribute to inflammation. But with modern tools, we can now identify and reduce these triggers (iii).
- The key is progress, not perfection. Small steps—better food, regular exercise, and quality sleep—can dramatically extend your healthy years. Whatever your age, the choices you make today can help you thrive tomorrow. Let’s take proactive steps to enjoy a vibrant, healthy life.
Are These Symptoms Holding You Back?

- Chronic Fatigue: Feeling exhausted, even after a full night’s sleep, could be a sign that your body is working overtime to deal with toxins.
- Brain Fog and Trouble Concentrating: Difficulty focusing or experiencing memory lapses can be linked to toxic buildup, especially heavy metals or environmental pollutants.
- Frequent Headaches or Migraines: Persistent headaches may be related to exposure to chemicals and pollutants in your environment.
- Skin Issues: Conditions like eczema, rashes, or unexplained breakouts can be an indication that your body is struggling to detoxify.
- Digestive Problems: Bloating, constipation, or diarrhea can be signs that your digestive system is working hard to eliminate toxins.
- Joint and Muscle Pain: Unexplained aches and pains, especially if they are persistent, may be linked to inflammation triggered by toxic exposure.
- Mood Swings, Anxiety, or Depression: Toxins can disrupt the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, affecting your mood and overall mental well-being.
- Hormonal Imbalances: Issues like irregular menstrual cycles or low energy could be related to toxins that interfere with hormone regulation.
- Weakened Immune System: If you find yourself getting sick more often, your immune system may be overwhelmed by trying to deal with toxins.
- Allergies or Sensitivities: Developing new sensitivities to foods, scents, or chemicals could indicate that your body is struggling to process and eliminate harmful substances.
- Unexplained Weight Gain or Difficulty Losing Weight: Toxins can interfere with metabolism, making it harder for your body to maintain a healthy weight.
- Sleep Disturbances: Trouble falling or staying asleep can be related to the body’s natural detoxification processes being disrupted.
- Understanding what’s truly happening inside your body is the first step toward making meaningful changes. Testing takes the guesswork out of the equation, giving you clear insights into your toxic load so you can focus on what your body actually needs to heal and thrive. Don’t leave your health up to chance—find out what’s hiding beneath the surface and take control of your well-being.

- The Test First Initiative, led by Dr. Tom O'Bryan, is all about giving you the right tools to take control of your health. We believe that precise testing is the key to staying ahead of chronic conditions, helping you live your best life.
- We started with the Neural Zoomer Plus because it provides a deeper look into your neurological health, identifying early signs of neuroinflammation and autoimmunity—issues that can quietly impact your quality of life. By catching these early, you can take steps to protect your brain health before symptoms become serious.
- Now, we’re excited to introduce the next step in the Test First Initiative: the Total Tox Burden test. This test reveals hidden toxins that may be weighing down your body—from heavy metals and environmental pollutants to mycotoxins—giving you the information you need to address them effectively.
- As we continue to roll out more tests, each one will be chosen for its ability to uncover crucial insights about your health, helping you make informed decisions with confidence. The Test First Initiative is about moving beyond guesswork and embracing a personalized, evidence-based approach to wellness. By measuring the toxic load in your body, this test helps you to:
Pinpoint Specific Toxins:
Identify heavy metals, pesticides, and environmental pollutants that may be silently impacting your body’s natural balance.
Targeted Detox Strategies:
With detailed insights, you can create a personalized detox plan that focuses on eliminating the specific toxins your body is struggling with.
Strengthen Immune Function:
Lowering your toxic burden can take pressure off your immune system, making it easier for your body to fend off illness and maintain resilience.
Boost Your Energy Levels:
Addressing and reducing toxic buildup can help restore your natural energy levels, leaving you feeling more awake and alert throughout the day.
Improve Cognitive Function:
Removing toxic influences can reduce brain fog and help you regain sharper focus, clearer thinking, and better concentration.
Enhance Overall Well-being:
By understanding and addressing the toxins that weigh your body down, you’ll experience a greater sense of well-being, with more freedom to enjoy life without the limitations of unexplained symptoms.
- We live in a world where exposure to toxins is almost unavoidable. From air pollution and pesticides to heavy metals and household chemicals, these substances can build up in our bodies over time, quietly affecting our health. According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), the average American can carry up to 287 industrial chemicals in their body, many of which have never been thoroughly tested for safety.
- This toxic burden can interfere with various bodily functions, including your immune system, hormones, and cognitive health. Toxins don’t just impact physical health—they can also contribute to brain fog, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating, making it harder to live life to the fullest. That’s why understanding and addressing your toxic load is crucial for both immediate well-being and long-term vitality.
- The Total Tox Burden test aims to help you uncover these hidden stressors in your body, so you can take proactive steps to reduce your exposure and support your body's natural detoxification processes.

The Total Tox Burden test is designed to give you a comprehensive look at the environmental and chemical stressors affecting your body.
Here’s what makes this test so powerful:
- Screens for Over 100 Toxic Compounds: This test analyzes your body’s exposure to a wide range of toxic elements, including heavy metals like mercury, lead, and arsenic, which can have a severe impact on your neurological and immune health. It also identifies pesticides and herbicides, common in foods and water, that may disrupt your hormones and metabolism.
- Mycotoxin Detection: The test can identify mycotoxins, toxic substances produced by mold, which are often found in water-damaged buildings or contaminated foods. Mycotoxins can compromise your immune system, leading to chronic fatigue, respiratory issues, and even neurological symptoms if left unaddressed.
- Detects Environmental Pollutants: Beyond heavy metals and mycotoxins, the Total Tox Burden test reveals exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as benzene and toluene, which are often found in cleaning products, paints, and personal care items. These chemicals can contribute to oxidative stress and inflammation, affecting your overall well-being.
- Measures Detox Pathways: The test provides insight into how well your body is metabolizing and excreting these toxins. It looks at markers related to glutathione, your body’s master antioxidant, which is crucial for detoxification. Understanding how your detox pathways are functioning helps tailor the best approach for your needs.
- Actionable Results for Reducing Exposure: Based on what the test reveals, you can take specific actions, like adjusting your diet, switching out household products, or targeting supplements that support your body’s ability to process and eliminate harmful substances.
- Identify Long-Term Risks: By identifying the toxic elements that have accumulated in your body, you can address potential long-term risks, such as hormonal imbalances, neuroinflammation, and immune system disruptions—before they manifest as more serious conditions.
By understanding what toxins are affecting your body and how to address them, the Total Tox Burden test empowers you to take proactive steps toward a healthier, more vibrant life. It’s not just about living longer—it’s about living well, free from the hidden burdens that can hold you back.
